Gorgeous and clean place should have higher than 3 star rating, everything is excellent! The rooms are quiet with shower, excellent breakfast, for instance and the staff are cordial. The location is marvellous and stunning and they have parking outside. The attached restaurant is great, serves excellent dishes. Every time in Ballyvaughan we stay in this hotel.

The Standard Double Room was small but super cozy and nicely decorated. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious with a deep tub, perfect after a long day. It felt clean and fresh, with comfy bedding, made it easy to relax. Water pressure in the shower was excellent too. Just a heads up, parking is a bit tricky, so plan for that.

The room was very spacious and clean; hotel was in a great location, staff was friendly and very hospitable. The breakfast was served promptly and was very good. I discovered a very nice shopping area downtown with a car park, it would have been nice if the staff had told me about this as I may have gone there sooner, more information about local things would have been nice.
The street sign is written on a rock that is only visible when you are traveling in the opposite direction. We called the hotel but were not given real good directions and drove past it for about a half an hour being frustrated when we couldn't find it. I would suggest getting a larger sign and putting it by the corner or something eye catching to alert the guests where the hotel was. Another thing is that the building is old and was using skeleton keys which were harder to use. It would be nice if they could convert to keyed entry locks and give two per guests. My mother traveled with me and she was upset when we were only given one skeleton key so she talked to the manager and he gave her another although they were hard to use.

The location was great. It was near both the seaside, which turned out awesome during our stay because the weather was so good, and center city where the restaurants and other activities were within reasonable walking distance.
A little worn for wear, but very nice, we got an extra room to put our suitcases in which was a bonus so we weren't cramped.

The Angus beef at the Wild Atlantic Lodge was a delicious hero of my culinary quest. Plus, the modern rooms were a perfect abode for exploring the rich flavors of the region, and the great dining features local ingredients that left me buzzing!
The parking situation was a bit cramped, but the really good service from the staff made up for it, everything else shined bright!

WE REQUESTED AN EARLY BREAKFAST AND WERE INFORMED THAT THE EARLIEST TIME WAS 8.30AM. THE PEOPLE SERVING DID NOT TURN UP UNTIL ABOUT 8.40AM, SO WE HAD JUST TEA AND TOAST TO NOT DELAY ANY FURTHER.

The staff at Ocean Crest was especially helpful. We were there 2 days and the staff went out of there way to please their guests. My small suitcase was carried up to the attic level (I was hot and tired looking). A converter was offered to a guest who needed one and a large amount of coffee was brought to an elderly woman who craved it during breakfast.
